Alternative Therapies

Single services, packages and memberships are available for all of our alternative therapies, in addition to our stress management program option.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture is a method of restoring energy balance to promote healing and functioning through inserting needles at precise points on the body. After the needles have been inserted, one may feel a sensation of heaviness or tingling. Some people feel minimal pain, most feel no pain at all. Acupuncture can positively improve health and wellness, treat various medical conditions and prevent illness. E-stim or Electroacupuncture provides additional stimulation to the acupuncture points by passing a low frequency electrical current between two needles. In traditional acupuncture, the needle is stimulated only upon insertion and is then left in place. However, practitioners discovered that patients – particularly those suffering from chronic pain – can benefit from continued movement. Therefore, E-stim utilizes a small device to generate continuous electric pulses that stimulate the needles and provide continued relief.

Cupping – Practitioners heat circular glass cups and then gently place the cup, face down, on the surface of the skin. The heat removes all oxygen from within side the cup to create a vacuum and causes a suction effect when sealed against the body. The vacuum produced inside each glass cup will lift the skin upwards, causing a strong pulling sensation that is often quite enjoyable. The body then responds by stimulating the flow of blood and oxygen to the area, which in turn increases the drainage of toxins through the lymphatic system, relaxes tight muscles, and reduces inflammation

Homeopathic injections by Heel: These injections help with joint pain, muscle pain, and nerve pain and are typically combined several to achieve a synergistic effect for relief.

Sarapin Injections: Sarapin is an excellent injection for sciatic pain.

Biofeedback

Biofeedback training teaches how to consciously change and control the body’s vital functions that are normally unconscious, such as breathing, heart rate, and blood pressure, through information provided by electronic devices. It is also useful for conditions where there is inadequate control over muscle groups or muscle dysfunction. Biofeedback can help with stress-related conditions where there is sympathetic or adrenal stress including phobias, abuse, acute stress and trauma.

Deep Oscillation Therapy

Hivamat Deep Oscillation® therapy originates from Germany. It is based on the principle of creating low-frequency and very gentle electrostatic impulses in the patient’s tissue as the gloved hand of the therapist glides above.

The tissue is attracted and released between 5 and 250 times a second, penetrating deep into the body causing a “kneading” of the tissue and a basic shuffling of the substance therein. It has clinically proven positive effects on all tissue layers through the skin, sub-cutaneous fat, connective tissue, muscles, blood and lymph vessels.

Scientifically researched frequencies cause the excess inflammatory by-products, protein solids and build-up of lymph fluid to be powerfully and yet gently pumped out of the tissue, leaving the area free to begin its natural healing process.

Reported benefits for the patient include:
